I have some big news to share with you today:

Morgan James Publishing will release an expanded edition of my book A Couple with Common Cents in 2016!

How did I do it?

Author Gets New York Publishing Deal on First Try Without an Agent or Written Proposal

It all started nearly one year ago. I went to a workshop in Denver, Colorado and met a New York Times bestselling author there. I took copies of this book to give away to all participants.

This author (Joel) really liked A Couple with Common Cents and said on the second day,

Ryan with Joel Comm, November 2013

“It’s time to take this to the next level. Let me introduce you to my publisher.”

I was blown away. Here was a business author whom I highly respected, treating me as a peer.

But I didn’t expect Joel to reach out to me like that.

Well, the same issue applies to this very blog. For the longest time I’ve wrestled with what my overarching theme really is. How do I describe all my content under one succinct banner?

I’ve finally come up with it: Continue Reading…

It’s time to take a break.

For the past three months I’ve posted on this blog every weekday (April, May, & June). I had a fun time doing it.

(There are some posts from before April as well.)

But now as we’re in the second half of summer, it’s time for me to take a break from this blog and the podcast (a “content publishing sabbatical”). Why? Continue Reading…
